Early interest list · UK to Czechia
We are exploring opportunities for experienced UK technology professionals who are curious about working and living in the Czech Republic, starting with Prague and Brno.
We are testing interest before we launch. There are no confirmed vacancies yet, and registering is not a commitment.
The case for a closer look
It will not suit everyone. For experienced technology professionals who want a change, it is a serious option worth understanding properly.
Czechia has a long engineering tradition and a technology sector that spans software, cloud, data and research, concentrated in and around Prague and Brno.
Many international companies run offices and engineering teams there, and English is commonly used at work in international teams. This varies from employer to employer.
Prague is the capital and the larger market. Brno is a university city with a strong research and software community. They offer quite different day-to-day lives.
Historic, walkable cities with good public transport and easy travel across Europe. Direct flights connect Prague with several UK airports.
Living and working abroad can broaden your career and your outlook. It is also a big decision, which is why we are starting with conversations, not commitments.
Where we are starting
These are the areas where we want to gauge interest first. They are not job listings, and we are not recruiting for specific roles yet.
Back-end, front-end and full-stack engineers building and running production software.
Cloud, platform and reliability engineers who keep systems fast, secure and repeatable.
Engineers and analysts who build data platforms and turn data into decisions.
Machine learning engineers and applied scientists who take models into real products.
Other experienced technology specialists are welcome to register too. Tell us about your background in the form and we will take it into account.
Initial areas of interest
Two cities with very different characters, about two and a half hours apart by train.
The capital offers a broad mix of international and local employers, a historic centre, a busy cultural calendar and good public transport.
Home to several universities and a well-known research and software community. Smaller and calmer than Prague, with its own character and modernist architecture.
The process
We are at the start, so the first steps are about listening.
Fill in the short form below. It takes about two minutes and needs no CV.
Share your experience and what matters to you in a move, such as career progression, lifestyle or work environment.
We look into relevant opportunities and potential employer matches. Your details are not shared with any employer without asking you first.
If a suitable opportunity becomes available, we can discuss the next steps with you. There is no obligation to proceed.
To be clear: registering does not guarantee a job, an interview or a relocation opportunity. It helps us understand demand and lets us get in touch if something relevant comes up.
Take the first step
Tell us a little about your background and what a move would need to offer. We will use it to understand demand and to contact you if something relevant comes up.
Registering does not guarantee a job or relocation opportunity. If you change your mind, you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Straight answers
We would rather be upfront about what we do and do not know yet.
Not necessarily. Many international companies in Prague and Brno work in English, particularly in technology teams. It depends on the employer and the role, so we cannot promise it for every opportunity.
Outside work, some Czech is genuinely useful for everyday life, and many people choose to learn it after moving.
In most cases, yes. Since Brexit, UK citizens are generally treated like other non-EU nationals in the Czech Republic. A separate work permit is generally not required when moving for a job, because employment-based residence routes such as the Employee Card or the EU Blue Card cover both living and working there. You would still need to meet the residence requirements of the route that applies to you, which can include a job offer, qualifications and other conditions.
Some people are in a different position, for example those who also hold EU citizenship or who have existing rights under the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement. Rules can change, so please check the Czech Ministry of the Interior's official immigration information and take professional advice before making plans. This is general information, not legal advice.
We cannot promise this yet. We do not have confirmed employers, and relocation support varies between employers. It is one of the options in the form, so you can tell us how important it is to you, and we will share what we learn as opportunities develop.
No. We are at an early stage, testing whether there is genuine interest from UK technology professionals before we set up the service. We do not currently advertise specific jobs or have confirmed employer partnerships, and we will not suggest otherwise.
No. Registering your interest is free, and you will never be asked for payment to register.
No. Registering simply tells us you are open to exploring the idea. You are free to say no to any opportunity, change your mind or ask us to delete your details whenever you like.
We use it to understand demand and to contact you about relevant opportunities. We will not share your details with employers without asking you first. The full explanation is in the privacy notice beside the form, which also covers your rights. Read the privacy notice.
